Stoner Creek is a hidden gem in Central KY. When most people think of a creek they think of something they can walk across, with the occasional deeper pool. Stoner Creek is 10-12 feet deep so it’s not your average creek.
Stoner Creek is known for excellent fishing, and is home to beautiful wildlife, including the majestic heron as pictured in our logo.
A fishing guide can be provided to help you find the big ones in our secret fishing spots.
A day or even a couple of hours on the creek is a perfect relaxing adventure for fisherman, families or couples.
The adventures extend beyond the beautiful grounds of Paris Landing as well. The Kentucky Horse Park is minutes away and a great place to visit for the horse enthusiast, Paris Landing also makes a great place to stay when events such as the Rolex Equestrian Event takes place.
Enjoy golf? Stoner Creek Country Club has a 9 hole course which is about a 3 wood away from Paris Landing. We even built a dock at the country club so our guests can arrive by boat. We have made arrangements so that all of our guests can enjoy all the amenities of the club, golf, swimming and dining.
Paris is located in Bourbon County, and we are proud of our Bourbon. The Kentucky Bourbon Trail is a lot of fun for young and old. Some of the distilleries have deep rich histories and are on the National History Register. The nearest is about an hour from Paris Landing, but there are many stops within an hour and a half. Some guests may make a stop or two on their way to Paris Landing or on their way back home. Certainly convenient to guests approaching Lexington from Louisville.
Bourbon not your beverage of choice? Numerous wineries surround Paris as well. Enjoy an Ale-8-One, a local soft drink made in neighboring Winchester since 1926. All offer tours and tastings.
There is much more to enjoy in the area than just Bourbon and Horses. Kentucky Craftsmen are renowned. Berea, KY is not far at all and is home to many craft shops and the Boone Tavern. Daniel Boone’s Fort is also nearby and is a popular destination for kids.
One of the reasons Kentucky is so well known for its great horses and bourbons is the limestone which is about everywhere you dig. The limestone makes for great water for bourbon, and nutrient rich grass for horse bones and it also makes for great caves. Mammoth Cave, the largest cave in the world, is about 3 hours west of Paris, and Carter Caves is about an hour and a half to the east.
Churchill Downs is in Louisville (locals pronounce it Lew-uh-vul) and home to the Kentucky Derby the first Saturday in May and thoroughbred racing throughout the year.
In Lexington, Keenleand is as beautiful of a race track you will ever see. Hosting Race meets in the spring and in the fall.
These are just a small sampling of the adventures Paris Landing has to offer. Your host looks forward to helping you make plans and arrangements and recommendations for your adventure.
